Marin Greek Festival

The Marin Greek Festival, sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Church in Novato went extremely well.  Not only was there a lot of interest in the book, but people were also interested to learn something about Greece, now and then.  An annual event -  the festival was held in a magical outside setting, reminiscent of a Greek island - offered delicious Greek food, live Greek music and dance.

Friends would often ask, "what were the circumstances that caused you to leave your family and country at the age of eleven and emigrate to America?"  The recollection of the dramatic events of my young life offers  a historical perspective of Greece at the time of WWII, the civil war that followed, personal tragedy, and post-war immigration for readers to ponder and enjoy.
